Our Impact with International Collaboration with World Child Cancer and UK AID.

With technical partners Kanti Children’s Hospital and TACC, the Ramesh Gupta memorial trust has received a GBP 300,000 grant from World Child Cancer, UK Aid to carry out the project titled “improve the child oncology outcome in Nepal.” We have ensured that the project reaches and uses the budget and proposal that were approved. We have tried our best to cut down on administrative expenses and put every rupee we have at work for better results. With our technical partner, we have organized the following events and programs, which will undoubtedly have greater impact on reducing child cancer challenges

Our Endeavor with International Collaboration

Through international collaboration, we have strengthened childhood cancer care by building skilled healthcare capacity, expanding access to treatment, and raising awareness across Nepal. Our initiatives include establishing a nursing fellowship program at Tata Memorial Hospital, India, creating shared care centers to bring treatment closer to families, and supporting pediatric oncology training for medical professionals. We have organized awareness and advocacy programs to promote early detection and emphasize that childhood cancer is curable, while also providing family and patient support to reduce treatment abandonment. Additionally, we have equipped Kanti Children’s Hospital with advanced biomedical equipment and facilitated stakeholder engagement platforms to foster dialogue and sustainable solutions for improving childhood cancer care.

Our Story

Each year, an estimated 400,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer, including 1,500–2,000 children in Nepal. Yet, fewer than 25% have access to quality treatment, resulting in a survival rate of only 30%, compared to 85% in developed countries. Late diagnosis, lack of awareness, limited facilities, misconceptions about cancer, and high treatment costs remain the biggest barriers.

At Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust (RGMT), we are committed to changing this reality through prevention and curative support. We focus on raising awareness, promoting early detection, and strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals, while also providing psychological support to patients and families. Alongside this, we offer financial assistance, treatment coordination, counseling, and shared care centers to ensure children—especially from rural and underprivileged backgrounds—receive timely and life-saving care.

We exist to ensure that childhood cancer in Nepal is curable, manageable, and preventable—and that no child is denied treatment due to lack of resources.

💛 Spread awareness. Support treatment. Give hope.
